OK, a tube rollers dream come true!

For sale I have a quad of Telefunken's finest E188CC (6922 / E88CC / 6DJ8 / 7308) and a quad of Amperex Bugleboy 6DJ8/ECC 88

About a year ago I owned an Audio Research LS15 with ElectroHarmonix 6922's and fancied trying some tube rolling with exotic NOS tubes. I bought both these sets of tubes from the same guy on Audiogon who has a reputable tube business and they came fully tested as NOS with excellent specs. I used the Amperex for around 40hrs and the Telefunkens for maybe a 100hrs, probably less. Then I sold the ARC preamp and sent it to its new owner with a new set of EH6922's. I don't have equipment to test these tubes, but as far as I'm concerned they must test strongly as they've only had minimal use in my system.

How do they sound - well compared to the EH 6922 (the premium version sourced from Kevin at Upscale Audio) both sets of tubes are in a different league altogether.

In my system I preferred the Telefunkens - they have remarkable clarity, detail and extension. The Amperex were a little more laid back an warm in their presentation - both were exceptionally good and transformed the ARC pre, but the Telefunkens did it for me!

I've seen the 'Funkens go on eBay for $400+ - in fact there's a pair of the lesser E88CC that are sitting at $122.50 with 17 bids and 5+ days to go. I'm asking $400 for the Telefunken's.

The Amperex are available for $125 for the quad.

Thanks for looking
