| System
Description:: |
This system
does a fairly impressive job with just about every type
of music I choose to play. I previously owned a system
with a Cary 300SEI, and found that it did not seem to
take well to harder rock music. I now get equal
soundstaging, added bass quality level, and an adequate
sound from acoustic music. Certainly not as liquid as a
WE300B, but the 6H30 "supertube" is extremely
versatile. There are some recordings that push the
limits of "dryness", but there are many more
that make it clear you are listening to a tubed preamp. |

Acoustic-rock
would be the simplest categorization.
Beatles,Neil Finn, Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, Mark
Knopfler are favorites.
Avid collector of newly remastered CDs that were
originally released as poor-sounding. Fleetwood Mac,
Paul Simon, John Lennon, and early Elton John are
examples.
Some jazz recordings; Jimmy Scott, Diana Krall (more for
system testing than enjoyment w/Krall). |
