As an old blues song says, I was “Born in Chicago.” I worked equipment and sound for a local blues/rock band when I was still in high school. In college I studied engineering (power, acoustics, amplifier and loudspeaker design, blah, blah, blah). After graduation, for the next 20 years I was out standing in the power field. A would-be audiophile since my late teens, when I lied about my age to secure a loan to buy my first real audio system (and commit my first real felony. And I’ve been hooked ever since (on audio, not felonies). Always the tweakster, I’ve probably rebuilt, upgraded, or otherwise altered almost every component I've ever owned -- some of them even for the better! I recently started my own custom A/V sales & installation business (The Audio Doctor) here in OZ (OZaukee County). I specialize in home theater and upscale audio.
